I have another not-really-recipe for you. Cooking your bacon in the oven is not really a new thing but is an awesome thing. It is the EASIEST way to cook bacon. Easy cleanup, no flipping required, no bacon splatter all over your stove. And it cooks all the pieces perfectly even.
I buy Jonny buys our bacon from Country Corner Market, our local butcher. So the pieces are thick and meaty, exactly how we like them. Our bacon needs to cook for 15 minutes because it is thick. Every once in a while we pick up the flimsy bacon from walmart and it will cook in 10-12.
If you want your cleanup to be even easier you can line your pan in foil first. I don’t do this because I don’t find the cleanup that tough. Its just oil, nothing gets stuck on anyways. Feel free to double up and use two pans! Fit as much bacon in that oven as you want to.
It is also possible to put the bacon on rack on the sheet so the fat drains as you cook. I’ve never done it because I’m okay with separating the fat after because that means one less thing to clean hahaha. I am just letting you know its an option!
This is a great way to cook bacon for a large group or meal prep breakfast for the week.
- Bacon (as much as you want or will fit on your pan)
- Preheat your oven to 400F
- Lay out bacon in a single layer on a baking sheet
- Bake for 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of your bacon
Also as a little bonus here, if you are only cooking a couple pieces of bacon for yourself, the foreman grill does an awesome job of it. No splatter and it cooks quick because it heats from the top and bottom at the same time. I’ve been known to put a couple pieces on the grill, set it for 10 minutes and then get ready for work. When I am ready to go, my bacon is ready 🙂
