Making your own homemade vicks shower disks is so easy and only takes a couple minutes on your part and then you leave them alone to set.
These are fantastic for clearing out your sinuses from a cold and are amazing for seasonal allergies too.
The brand name shower disks are expensive though. Especially when you consider how inexpensive they are to make. You can change up the scent based on your personal preferences but the ones I listed below are the most effective for sinus congestion.
Don’t limit yourself to those scents though. These disks can be used to infuse your shower with any scent that cheers you up and gets you ready to embrace the day! I like citrus smells like lime and grapefruit.
- 2 cups baking soda
- ⅔ cup water
- approximately 15 drops essential oil (rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender)
- muffin pan
- muffin liners
- Add baking soda to a bowl. Slowly add the water to make a thick paste. You may need another 1-2 Tbsp. Add the drops of essential oil. You may add more or less depending on your preference. Stir it in.
- Pour the mixture into lined muffin tins. Let the mixture sit out over night. You may also bake it at 350F for 30 minutes.
- When you have a shower just put the puck on the bottom of the tub. It will release the oils and clear out your head! I like to place it toward the back of the tub where the water is less intense and it melts away more slowly
